OUR LEADERSHIP

The Calabrese Sisters

GUENEVERE CALABRESE
Artistic Director, Owner/Founder

A native of Kennett Square, Guenevere grew up singing and making music with her family.  At Kennett High School, like her younger sister, she took advantage of every opportunity to perform.

After high school, Guenevere's passion for music education led her to West Chester University where she received a Bachelors of Music Education with a concentration in Voice. She spent 7 years teaching at Upland Country Day School to children in grades PK-9 specifically in general music, small instrumental ensembles, and choruses.

In 2010, Guenevere began the Adventures in Music Summer Camps that kick-started the sisters' dream of having a performing arts company.

After her 4 year term as the elementary music teacher at Westtown School in West Chester, PA Guenevere started Calabrese Arts Co. She spent 5 years teaching her groundbreaking story-based early childhood music and movement curriculum, PreSchool Adventures in Music, at local pre schools as well as Early childhood music, elementary and middle school programs at Hockessin Montessori School, where she will be returning in the fall.

Throughout her career, Guenevere and her sister Becca have infused their Quaker upbringing and beliefs in their teaching and business. The Quaker SPICES; Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship, are the leading tennents of the quaker experience and inform much of the creation of the programs and vibe at Calabrese Arts.

Guenevere currently resides in Kennett Square, PA and continues to perform, face paint and teach through her growing Calabrese Arts Co. Performing and Creative Arts Center located at 660 E Cypress Street, Kennett Square, PA.
